Authorities ID NorCal Jane Doe After Nearly 50 Years

The woman once known as "Emigrant Gap Jane Doe" has been identified as Medlina "Pip" Beardsley, a mother from Michigan who was reported missing several years ago. Her body was found in 1977 along a snowbank in Placer County. The Placer Sheriff's Office has been working to identify Beardsleys and assist with other law enforcement agencies in the United States and Canada.
