After two high-profile domestic violence murders in the past, a local prevention advocacy group is concerned about the next local tragedy. The murder-suicide involving former Virginia Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax and his wife, Dr. Cerina Fairfax, has sparked national attention as investigators investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting. The suspected shooter, 31-year-old Shamar Elkins, was shot and killed following a police pursuit and seven of the eight children killed are believed to be Elkins' children.
