Kuwaiti-American journalist Ahmed Shihab-Eldin, known for his work at VICE, HuffPost and Al Jazeera, has been detained in Kuwait by press freedom advocates after he shared videos related to the Iran war. The arrest comes as Kuwait and other Gulf states have been cracking down on individuals for posting imagery of Iranian missile strikes and sensitive material online. The Committee to Protect Journalists has called on Kuwait to drop all charges and for transparency regarding the case. The public outcry over the detention has been prompted by the high profile nature of Shihabe-Elingin's online presence.
