James Marter, a self-described conservative, is running for the Republican nomination in the 14th Congressional District of Illinois in 2020. Marter won the Republican Primary in 2024 against Charlie Kim by a wide margin. His campaign platform includes anti-abortion, pro-family, and in favor of Second Amendment rights. He also supports an "America-first" approach to foreign policy. Gary Vician, a retired science teacher and former Naperville Township Supervisor, is also running for Congress, focusing on limiting career politicians with term limits, supporting small Illinois farms and businesses, and defending the Second Amendment. Both candidates believe the United States should stop outsourcing factory jobs and other production methods.
