Theodore Cartner, 76, has been charged with reckless discharge of a firearm after allegedly firing a shotgun at a pond on his property in an attempt to chase away fishermen. The incident occurred around 9 p.m. on Saturday night. Police responded to the 43,000 block of North Lake Avenue and found that Cartner had retrieved the gun from a dispute with the fishermen. He surrendered the weapon to police and was taken into custody.
