From Space to Senate: John Glenn’s legacy lives on in New Concord hometown museum

John Glenn, the first American to orbit the Earth, served as a Marine pilot in World War II and the Korean War before becoming one of the nation's top test pilots and later a U.S. senator. His experiences during the Great Depression and the Space Race influenced his character. The John and Annie Glenn Museum in New Concord, Ohio, operates with Hope Neal, assistant director of operations for Museums of East Muskingum, who says Glenn's success is closely tied to his relationship with his wife, Annie, who he believes could not have achieved his success without her.
