The Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) has declined to schedule a public hearing regarding the proposed Limerick 67MW Distribution Project, which would power a data center in Limerick, Pennsylvania. The proposal is being supported by community advocates, environmentalists, and others concerned about the environmental impacts of poorly regulated data center development. The power line would run from the PECO Lock Substation in East Coventry to the Schuylkill River and then connect to another PECo line between Sanatoga Quarry and Limerick Generating Station. The public comment period is now open.
