The first weekend of May will see temperatures remain below normal and there are expected to be a few chances of light rain. The National Weather Service predicts that a developing offshore system could bring additional rain, but this is expected to mainly affect areas along the Jersey Shore. Temperatures will begin to rise on Tuesday, with temperatures expected to reach the 70s across parts of the state. The next widespread rain is expected Wednesday, followed by a cold front moving towards the Northeast.
