Former Lakewood High School security officer sentenced to at least 18 years for child sex assault

A judge has sentenced Rubel Tim Martinez, a former Lakewood High School ssecurity officer, to at least 18 years in prison for child sexual assault. Martinez was convicted in January after repeatedly sexually assaulting a student from 2014 to 2016. The assault took place both off campus and during school hours. The former student, who was not named, reported the assaults in August 2024.
