A local woman is expected to make a full recovery following a mental health crisis and confrontation with police in early April. South Brunswick Police were dispatched to a home on Kingston Lane for a report of a woman having a mental illness crisis and attempting to kill herself. Once they arrived, they found the woman in a back bathroom where she was still holding a knife. Sgt. Jarrid Harpster and Sgt. Brooke Labell attempted to negotiate with the woman to drop the knife, but the woman advanced towards them, holding the knife at waist level. The woman was eventually immobilized by tasers and taken to hospital with self-inflicted stab wounds.
