Armed person shot by law enforcement near White House complex, Secret Service says

A man was shot by law enforcement after he was spotted carrying a gun near the White House complex by plainclothes officers and agents near the Washington Monument. The Secret Service responded to the man's actions when he opened fire on them, returning fire. The suspect was transported to a local hospital and is in stable condition. A minor was also shot but not seriously injured. The incident occurred during a small business event at the time of the incident, which briefly locked down the building as authorities investigated the incident. It is unclear whether the incident was related to President Donald Trump or not related.
