Rick Scott (R-Florida) for his efforts to remove his 2019 impeachment from the Senate, following allegations of an illegal quid-pro-quo with Ukraine's leader, Volodymyr Zelensky. Scott introduced a resolution expressing that the president's impeachment trial lacked legitimacy and accused a whistleblower of bias. The resolution also repeats unfounded claims about former President Joe Biden seeking to pressure Ukrainian officials to fire a prosecutor in an effort to protect his son, Hunter Biden. The House voted to impeach Trump in 2019 but the Senate ultimately acquitted him on charges of abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.
