Awardised for fraudulently using food stamps, Melanie Merritt, 45, has been charged with numerous offenses including obtaining more than $500 of public assistance, obtaining more over $10,000 worth of property by false pretenses or personation, and giving false documents to an agent, employee, or public official. The woman surrendered to police and was arraigned at the Hope Valley Barracks.
