Boys basketball teams battle it out at University of Portland in 6A OSAA quarterfinals

The Oregon 6A boys basketball state quarterfinals began at the Chiles Center at the University of Portland. Oregon City, a three seed and Three Rivers League co-champion, played its first state game in seven years. The Pioneers led 22-12 at halftime and held a 38-38 tie at the end of regulation. Jesuit senior Joe Stimpson led the Crusaders with 21 points. Central Catholic defeated Grant, the 10 seed, 75-55 in the nightcap. In the afternoon matinee, 17th-seeded Benson defeated No. 8 Clackamas 78-71. Tualatin, state champions in 2022 and 2023, defeated Sherwood 68-56.
