A midday robbery at SD Jewelry in Perth Amboy has left the store's owners claiming they lost $1 million in merchandise. The suspects used sledgehammers to smash through the store window and then flee with a gray BMW SUV. The owners expressed disappointment that police officers did not arrive in time to stop the suspects. Police responded to questions about their response, stating that they arrived within 25 seconds and initiated a pursuit. The police believe the robbery may be connected to a similar incident in January.
