Pangram Labs, an AI-detection startup, has claimed that several posts from Pope Leo XIV's official X account may have been written by artificial intelligence. The updated Chrome extension flagged several posts, including warnings about the impact of artificial intelligence on human thought and social structures. Pangram claims its detection model has a 99.98% accuracy rate and a false positive rate of one in 10,000. The launch comes amid increasing concerns about AI-generated content, with researchers stating that it will account for roughly 35% of newly published websites by mid-2025.
