Organizers plan to hold the largest protest in Providence, with up to 50,000 Rhode Islanders expected to attend the third major event of No Kings Day, a rally against the Trump administration. The first No Kings rally in June drew around 3,000 people and over 30,000 in October. The second demonstration in mid-October drew over 30.000, although this count was not verified independently. Organizers are encouraging attendees to get organized and community groups will be staffing tables with resources and opportunities to get involved. Other demonstrations in Rhode Island intend to protest the U.S.’s escalating conflict with Iran, cuts to social services and attacks on civil rights. The No Kings coalition has been planning this round of anti-Trump demonstrations for months, following the deaths of Renee Good and Alex Pretti of Minneapolis.
