Israel has conducted a new wave of attacks on Beirut, marking an escalation of its military campaign that has killed nearly 700 people. The strikes targeted central Beirut’s Bashoura neighbourhood and the southern suburbs. The Israeli military has issued a warning to evacuate a building in Zuqaq al-Blat. The violence, which began on March 2 after Hezbollah launched rockets towards Israeli territory from the start of the United States-Israeli war on Iran, has resulted in at least 687 deaths and over 1,500 injuries. Over 800,000 people have been forcibly displaced due to the violence. The United Nations and humanitarian groups have stated that Lebanese civilians, including those forced to flee their homes, are bearing the brunt of the conflict.
