The rule applies to firearm parts kits, or "ghost guns," subjecting them to the same regulations as traditional firearms. Gun Owners of America shared an email urging President Trump to implement this rule. The Firearms Policy Coalition (FPC) criticized the DOJ's lack of action on "Protecting Second Amendment Rights" and accused it of being empty rhetoric. Despite this, the DOJ has taken some steps in the past, including repealing the Biden administration's "zero tolerance" policy and proposing a rule that would allow citizens whose firearm rights currently under legal disability to restore them.
