Providence fires Kim English: Friars cut ties with third-year coach after Big East Tournament exit

Providence has terminated third-year coach Kim English after a disappointing season for the men's basketball team, following a 15-18 loss to St. John's in the Big East Tournament. English finished his three-year tenure with a 48-52 record, including 23-37 in Big East play. The school's athletic director, Steve Napolillo, wishes English well-wishers and his family the best in the future. The payout for English for early termination is believed to be around $6 million.
