Nepal authorities have arrested 10 people in connection with an alleged $20M insurance scam on Mount Everest. The scam allegedly involved climbers subjected to staged rescues and admitted to hospitals across Kathmandu to fraudulently claim insurance money. The individuals allegedly involved in the scam include individuals from a trekking company, a rescue company, and hospitals in the capital. The fraud has severely damaged Nepal's international reputation and has been identified nearly 4,800 international climbers treated at implicated hospitals.
