Athletics hit 3 solo homers off Rangers in 1st inning in victory

The Athletics beat Texas 8-1 in the first inning of their game, with three solo home runs in the second and third innings. The Athletics were able to put the score on the board within seven pitches, with Nick Kurtz, Carlos Cortes and Tyler Soderstrom each homered off 15-season veteran Nathan Eovaldi. This was the first time in franchise history the Athletics homered three times in the top of the first innings. Eovaldo gave up at least three homers in an inning for the fourth time in 15 big league seasons, the first since he moved to Texas in 2023. Despite this, the Athletics plan to move to Las Vegas in 2028, when they will open play at a new ballpark on the Strip.
