K-State has named Casey Alexander as its 27th head men’s basketball coach in the history, with a 5-year contract approved by the Athletics Board of Directors and President Richard Linton worth $3.3 million for the 2026-27 season, with an expected $50,000 base salary increase each year. Alexander, who has 15 years of head coaching experience and 303 career wins across three programs, will be formally introduced at a news conference on March 16. He comes to Manhattan after seven seasons at Belmont, where he compiled a 166-60 overall record and won 4 conference championships. Alexander's 166 wins rank 14th among all Division I programs in that span, and his current team will add a fourth postseason appearance after winning the Missouri Valley Conference regular-season title.
