Governor Jenniffer González Colón has announced an unprecedented $900 million reduction in government contracts in her first 15 months in office. The administration credits Executive Order OE‑2025‑008, a governance and administrative oversight framework designed to strengthen review and supervision of contracting, appointments, and operational transactions across executive branch agencies. The move is seen as an unprecedented achievement by Gonzávez Colón, who claims it establishes a new standard of fiscal discipline, administrative control, and transparency across the executive branch. The Financial Oversight and Management Board has also acknowledged the administration's efforts. Other notable measures include reducing power interruptions from LUMA Energy and launching infrastructure projects and initiatives totalling more than $2.7 billion.
