The remains of a victim's remains found in 2024 in a shallow grave at the Deer Creek Campground in Park County, Colorado were positively identified using genealogy. The remains were found with clothing and an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was connected to a missing person from a Golden Police Department case and connected to missing person. Forensic genetic genealogy services from United Data Connect helped identify the victim, identified as John Cizek, 71, of Newark, California, who was murdered in June 2016. While investigators did not find Cizk's body, David Little was charged with murder nearly 10 years before and was never convicted. Little was found dead in custody in October 2016.
