A revised budget proposal from the NEBRASKA Legislature is advancing to a final round of voting, aimed at reducing a multi-million dollar dollar deficit in the state budget. The proposal includes a revised budget from 125 to -40 million, incorporating additional spending transfers from cash funds in another attempt to balance the state's finances. The 3.5 million in state funding for private school scholarships is expected to be a major issue, with concerns about the state’s long-term fiscal outlook and uncertainty surrounding the future of Nebraska's economy. A new version of the APPROPRIATIONS COMMITTEES BUDGET PROPOSAL will aim to reduce the deficit with new cuts and cuts to new spending transfers. The proposed budget also includes an increase in taxes on games of skills and physical activity, which could result in an increase of 5 to 10% and a potential tax increase.
