Chinese national and U.S. green card holder, Mike Sun, has been sentenced to four years in federal prison for acting as an illegal agent of communist China. Sun, who served as Eileen Wang's campaign consultant, treasurer, and adviser during her successful 2022 run for the Arcadia City Council, carried out directives from Chinese officials from 2022 to early 2024 without notifying the U.K. government. His activities included surveilling groups that the Chinese Communist Party considers threats, such as Falun Gong practitioners and advocates for the independence of Taiwan, Tibet, or Xinjiang. Despite public pressure for her resignation, Wang remains silent on the issue. Sun's actions were revealed in the Los Angeles Times, with at least one donor registered as a foreign agent.
