The threat of snow and wind is expected to continue through the weekend, with a potential snowstorm expected to occur on Saturday and Sunday. Light bands of snow are expected to cover southeast ND, the southern Valley, northeast SD and Lakes Country. The heaviest snowfall will mainly occur in southeast ND and the central and northern Valley, with total snow amounts expected to reach 3 to 6″ on I-94 and in Lakes Country by Sunday afternoon. Strong winds are expected late Saturday into Sunday, with gusts reaching mid-30 to 40+ mph. Travel conditions could be difficult as winds will be strong, potentially causing significant travel disruptions. An upper-level disturbance will also bring snow showers and light accumulations into the region on St. Patrick's Day, with temperatures expected to remain in the 20s to low 30s.
