City Councilman Steve Swidarski, Ward 1, has asked the city of Bay Village, Ohio, to review its flat-rate sewer billing policy for residents. The city currently charges each residence a sewer rental fee of $155 per household, storm water fee $9, and a $12 trash removal fee per quarter. The current policy is in place to comply with federal and state EPA requirements for sewer infrastructure improvements. The proposal comes as part of a broader discussion about creating a more equitable sewer billing system. However, Council President Dwight Clark and Mayor Paul Koomar have agreed to have another discussion about sewer rates in the Finance Committee.
