Waymo car goes wrong way in Alamo Heights school zone, concerns parents

A viewer recorded video of a Waymo autonomous vehicle traveling the wrong way in a school zone in Alamo Heights, raising concerns about safety. The incident occurred as Pam Antal was dropping her daughter off at Cambridge Elementary School in the Alamo Height Independent School District. She said their local crosswalk cop stopped her vehicle as he attempted to direct the Waymo car away from students and from entering a one-way street. Antal provided a video showing the car traveling between two rows of cars facing the opposite direction. The company has a fleet of fully autonomous vehicles that serves riders across more than 60 square miles in San Antonio.
