Tornado warning issued in western Pennsylvania

The National Weather Service has issued a tornado warning for Allegheny, Washington and Greene counties in western Pennsylvania. A severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located over McDonald, or 8 miles northwest of Canonsburg, moving east at 40 mph. This will be particularly dangerous to those caught without shelter, with mobile homes damaged or destroyed, and damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles is expected. Other severe thunderstorms have also been issued for parts of Allegheny and Beaver, Washington, and Westmoreland counties. Severe thunderstorms were located along a line from over Coraopolis to near Avella, with 60 mph expected. The warning also includes an interior room on the lowest floor of a well-built building away from windows.
