Police pull unconscious driver from truck moments before it sinks into N.J. river

Police in Pennsauken, New Jersey, pulled a drunk driver from a pickup truck in the Cooper River shortly before it sank to the bottom of the river. The vehicle was partially submerged when officers waded into the river and found the driver unconscious and unable to open the doors. The driver was taken to an area hospital for treatment and a psychiatric evaluation. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and additional charges may be filed pending an investigation.
