An argument over train etiquette led to a violent altercation between groups of foreign tourists inside a carriage on a Fujikyuko Line train in Yamanashi Prefecture on April 3. The dispute was over whether a member of one of the groups had "stayed their leg out", leading to a physical fistfight inside the carriage. The incident caused an emergency halt to the train, leading to the cancellation or delay of 16 trains in both directions. The railway operator is currently investigating the incident.
