Residents in Lakewood and Olmsted Falls will be voting on two issues on May 5. The 6.9-mill levy is needed due to the district experiencing deficit spending next year. If approved, a reduced levy millage equates to a $100,000 homeowner paying $14 per month. The district has previously refinanced and advanced refunded over $34 million in debt service payments over the last six years. The other issue is a 4-mill safety tax levy, which will cost residents an additional $11.66 monthly per $100k of home value. If passed, this marks the township's first levy increase for police and fire since 2019.
