Shreve mayor knew tornado siren was broken before tornado warning, didn’t tell residents

Shreve mayor, Josiah Martin, did not inform residents of the city that the outdoor warning siren in which a tornado warning included Wayne County was broken two weeks ago. He contacted B&C Communications, the service provider responsible for maintaining and servicing the siren, and informed the Village that a technician would be out to repair the system. However, Martin did not tell residents of Shreve their warning system was down. The state does not require an outdoor siren to be installed.
