The White House is reportedly fuming over CBS News' hiring of Jeremy Adler, a communications executive who previously worked for former Rep. Liz Cheney, who was a frequent critic of President Donald Trump and helped lead the Congressional committee that investigated the Jan. 6 insurrection and Trump's role in it. The White House reportedly expressed outrage over the hiring, which has been met with many expectations that CBS News would be more deferential to the president and his administration. Despite this, Adler has deep ties to the Republican Party, despite her battles with Trump, she has always been a staunchly conservative Republican. The hiring of Adler suggests that someone may have leaked Adler's potential appointment to prevent it from happening.
