The ongoing Department of Homeland Security (DHS) shutdown is causing significant delays at airports across the country, with wait times of 3.5 hours reported at major hubs due to officer shortages. The TSA halted operations on Feb. 17 and will not update its website until after funding is approved. Staff managing the website and app have been furloughed. The Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport in Louisiana advised passengers to arrive three hours early due to social media posts. The William Hobby Airport in Houston, Texas, advised travelers to arrive 4 hours before their scheduled departure to allow additional TSA security screening. For passengers who need special assistance, TSA Caspo is still operating.
