The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a tornado watch from Maryland to New Jersey, with a separate wind advisory lasting until 2 a.m. The watch is expected to occur during severe thunderstorms accompanied by high winds. This is considered a rare occurrence for this time of year for this part of the country. The NWS warned that strong winds could make driving difficult, particularly for high-profile vehicles. The weather also invited the possibility of "isolated hail up to quarter size" in its public advisory.
