A mother whose son's filthy house is affecting her breathing is becoming increasingly difficult due to the smell, the dirtiness and general cleaning of the house. Her son and his wife, who work full time, have two children and work full-time, and she is the only one who cleans and does laundry and shopping. This is causing her breathing to be affected when she visits their home. She may be allergic to something in the home, such as dust or animal dander, and should be tested. An ophthalmologist, Laura Fine, from the American Academy of Ophthalmology, has shared her thoughts on debunking a common myth about eye health, suggesting that younger people can also develop vision-threatening eye conditions. Despite age increasing the risk of developing vision-threatening diseases, younger people may also develop these conditions. The solution to these issues is a simple medical eye exam, but most people aren't getting one. The American Academy's EyeCare America program may be able to help.
