Stephen A. Smith, a prominent sports commentator and political talk show host, has stated that he is not running for president and instead believes he would beat Gavin Newsom, Kamala Harris, and most of the Democratic Party in a debate. This comes after Smith initially stated he was considering a presidential run in 2025 and had been approached by elected officials, billionaires, and his own pastor. However, within weeks, Smith changed his stance and stated he had no desire to be elected official. He also launched a political show on SiriusXM and made regular appearances on Fox News and NewsNation. Despite a January poll showing he had the potential backing of 2 percent of Democratic voters, Smith has not yet ruled out a presidential bid. His ESPN contract was reportedly worth at least $100 million, and he has no desire for office, but has no choice but to consider running.
