New Oregon destination is just one of the museum stops you won’t want to miss this spring

The Oregon museum scene is showing some new attractions this spring, including a new museum in the Columbia River Gorge, a new event series in the High Desert Museum in the high desert, and a yearlong series of programs celebrating the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. The Coos Art Museum will host a Maritime Art Exhibition 2026: Surge, marking the first time the museum has a theme. The Crown Point Country Museum in Oregon opened on March 21 and aims to preserve the history of the area and save it for future generations. Other notable exhibits include a new maritime exhibit at the Coos Arts Museum, a year-long series about public lands, citizenship and sovereignty. The High Desert museum will host several programs, including public Lands, Citizenship, and Maritime Art Exhibitions.
