Golden Knights rally past Mammoth 4-2 in Game 1 as Nic Dowd nets the winner

The Vegas Golden Knights defeated the Utah Mammoth 4-2 in Game 1 of their first-round series. Nic Dowd scored the winning goal at 7:20 of the third period, securing the win for the Golden Knights. The team twice trailed before scoring three goals in the final minutes of the game. The Mammoth lost their first playoff game since 2021. Colton Sissons, Mark Stone and Ivan Barbashev also scored for Vegas, while Logan Cooley and Kevin Stenlund scored for Utah. The Golden Knights finished with 52 hits compared to 29 for Utah, their highest point in the regular season was 36.
