The San Diego Sheriff's Office has released video of the fatal shooting of an armed car passenger who was fatally shot during a traffic stop last month. The passenger, 33-year-old Oceanside resident Andre Mendez, had fired his gun at least once as a deputy shocked him with a Taser. In the few seconds that followed, five deputies and a police officer from a nearby community college opened fire on the man, killing him. The Sheriff's office released a video from the encounter, which includes bystander footage shot from across the street. The District Attorney's Office is reviewing the incident to determine if any officers involved in it should be held criminally responsible.
