Real estate technology company Zillow has revealed that homes selling above their asking price are 2.6 times more likely to sell for above their listing price than those listed within seven days. The company's research also revealed that year-over-year home prices are up by 1.7%, marking the slowest annual growth since 2012. This is bad news for homeowners with properties that are taking longer to sell, giving them less leverage in real estate transactions. The study also found that homes that sell in under a week are more likely than in years due to high demand from buyers. St. Louis had the highest share of homes that sold in seven days, with 27.5% selling for more than the asking price.
