‘Charlie’s Angels’ Reunite After 50 Years to Reflect on Show’s Highs (Giving “Women Permission to be Independent”) and Lows (Including Missed Opportunities for ‘Kramer vs. Kramer’ and Bond)

In honor of the show's 50th anniversary, stars Kate Jackson, Jaclyn Smith and Cheryl Ladd reunited for a talk at PaleyFest LA to reflect on the series's high highs and lows, including missed opportunities for 'Kramer vs. Kramer' and "Bond Girl" Despite the series launching multiple film franchises, the trio expressed their gratitude for the show’s unique portrayal of three women who were given “permission to be independent and not be defined by men” and shared their experiences. Ladd was brought in to play Farrah Fawcett's character's younger sister, Kris Munroe, after turning down three times when asked to join the show. Smith also revealed that her audition was not her best work and that the producers initially wanted a blonde, a brunette and a redhead, which they thought was inclusive.
