A bronze statue honoring baseball player Roy "Kipper" Mease has been replaced in a Pasadena park, more than a year after it was stolen. The statue had stood at the Kipper Mease Sports Complex for nearly 35 years and was removed from its base in December 2024. Harris County Precinct 2 Commissioner Adrian Garcia unveiled the newly recreated bronze statue last week. Despite the theft being never recovered, the original artist was consulted to recreate the memorial. The restoration of the statue was approved by Harris County Commissioners Court in April 2025.
