Sam’s Club has made a significant move to improve this aspect of the member experience, focusing on technology to create a seamless checkout experience that allows customers to scan goods on the go and then have an AI scanner verify purchases as customers leave. However, Costco may lose members if the checkout experience at Sam's club proves to be superior. Costco's CEO, Ron Vachris, stated that the company is working towards improving automated checkout stations to allow members to pay for orders seamlessly.
