Oil prices fall as Trump pauses attacks on Iranian energy plants

Oil prices have fallen as Iranian President Donald Trump postpones attacks on Iranian energy plants. Brent futures fell by 0.8%, to $107.11 per barrel, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate futures lost 83 cents, or 0.88%, due to fears of further escalation. Despite this, Brent is set for its first weekly fall in six weeks and WTI has fallen for a second consecutive week. The war on Iran has nearly halted shipments through the Strait of Hormuz, which carries about a fifth of the world's crude oil and LNG supply. The situation is described by an Iranian official as "one-side" and "unfair".
