However, the X3 and Q5 also received full redesigns last year, with the BMW X1 adopting a radically different design inside and out. Edmunds' car experts rated the Q5's 268 horsepower compared to the X 3's 255 horsepower. The Q5’s back seat offers more legroom and its seatback reclines, unlike the fixed back of the X-3. The X3's 30 xDrive gets an estimated 29 mpg combined, which is a clear advantage in BMW's favor. Both vehicles feature big touchscreen infotainment systems and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
