White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has refuted Democratic claims that the SAVE America Act would restrict women who have changed their last names after marriage from voting. She stated that the act does not prohibit anyone from voting, except illegal aliens. She also stated that married women who changed their names after their marriage can still register to vote through state processes. The claim was made during a White House media briefing. Both LeAVitt and Rep. Randy Weber, a Republican from Texas, also dismissed the claim as "fake news".
